Alese was born and raised in and around Houston, Texas, spending her teenage years in Pasadena—home of oil refineries, Gilley's and The Strawberry Festival!
After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and digital media at the University of Houston, she moved to New York City where she lived for almost 6 years. While there, Alese discovered and fell in love with graphic design. She worked at the major publishing houses, Penguin Putnam, Harper Collins, and Simon & Schuster designing book covers.
In 2004, the mountains of Colorado called and Alese followed. She worked at 5280, Denver's award winning city magazine until 2009 when she pursued a freelance career. Texas was always on her mind, so, in 2012, Alese hightailed it back to Houston where she lives and works today as the Deputy Art Director for Houstonia Magazine. She couldn't be happier.
